For the rest of my life I would be forced to live on both sides of a coin. Dealing with my Crohn's and a surgical procedure called an ileostomy. No, this was not how I'd planned my life. In years to come, I'd learn that as bad as I'd thought thought this was, it was merely the beginning. In 2002, the unspeakable happened. My worst nightmare reared its ugly head and I was its intended victim.
