MARY TAYLOR HUBER is a senior scholar at The Carnegie Foundation for the Advancement of Teaching, where she directs research on cultures of teaching in higher education. She is coauthor of The Carnegie Foundation report Scholarship Assessed: Evaluation of the Professoriate.SHERWYN P. MORREALE is associate director of the National Communication Association, following a teaching and research career at the University of Colorado in areas including communication education, public speaking, diversity, and the assessment of communication competence. She has authored communication textbooks, journal articles, and convention papers.
