Author Biography
Mel and Debbie worked together at a school in Ealing as senior leaders in charge of the CPD provision and tasked with improving the overall teaching levels in the school. A year ago (they just celebrated their anniversary!) they set up a blog called Teacher Tweaks and a Twitter account @TeacherTweaks. In just a year they have gained over 3,500 followers. On their blog and in the book their priority is to get across that they 'see through teacher's eyes'. As Advanced Skills teachers, with experience of senior leadership and National Strategy Consultancy, they have spent a large proportion of their time observing lessons, reflecting on good teaching practice and training colleagues to improve. They have responded to what their experience and discussions with colleagues have told them and designed a book that is truly effective for those at the 'interactive whiteboard face'. The lesson plans in the book are actually being taught by them and their colleagues and the idea of small tweaks is realistic, manageable and motivates people to implement them.
