Description of books and Maximite Computer kit for sale
Here for sale are two books about the Microchip PIC32 microcontroller chip and a very nice colour demo Maximite Computer kit to build that uses the PIC32 chip as it’s main processor and video generator etc. You can build the Maximite computer kit and use the downloadable MMBASIC firmware to have a ‘80’s type retro computer experience or indeed program the chip yourself and just use the components of the kit and PCB to make your own project, particularly if you’re interested to investigate the generation of video and audio using the PIC32 as you’ll find that this is all covered in the supplied books.
I particularly recommend the book ‘Programming 32-bitMicrocontrollers in C – Exploring the PIC32’ by Lucio Di Jasio as in the book he presents how to synthesise signals using the PIC32 timers for outputting analogue waveforms and video signals which are very useful tricks that any budding embedded software engineer would find useful and helpful. The other book: Beginner’s Guide to Programming the PIC32 by Thomas Kibalo is particularly suited to beginners starting out with the PIC32 and explains many of the basic methods used in embedded programming to connect the microcontroller to associated peripherals and other communication protocols such as serial and SPI etc. Both the books are in very good condition and have been covered in plastic for protection. Please note there are a few minor highlighted paragraphs in them and the odd annotated comment from their previous use.
The Colour Maximite Computer kit is brand new and has never been opened or used and is still in it’s plastic bag container. It comes complete with the printed 12-page documentation and component kit guide. You can find out more information about the Maximite Computer and it’s BASIC language at….

When I got the kit for extra training at work I was too busy to get round to using it and since then it’s been kept in a box untouched and as I’m now having a clear-out of some of my previous unused microdevelopment kits I’m offering it for sale along with the two PIC32 Programming books.
