Personal networking is a topic that affects everyone. We all prefer to do business with people, or deal with people we know and trust and this requires building positive relationships. Personal networking can help us do that provided that we realise that networking is not a transaction. It is an ongoing process and it is up to us to sustain those relationships.

In her book Networking Tactics, that has been reprinted due to the high demand after being published in 0ctober 2005, Brenda Eckstein shows you how you can do this. She combines strategy with networking. Personally where do you want to be in three years time from a work and ‘daily life’ perspective? To achieve success you need to think carefully about your purpose, your values and your desired future state. The book shows how personal networking can help you to achieve your goal. You develop your own networking tactics that will help you in two areas. Firstly, you can improve your own skills as a networker, and secondly, you can further develop your own network.

The book can be read for interest, or it can be used as a workbook. The workbook sections are purposely placed at the end of each chapter so as not to interfere with the flow for those who wish to read the book for interest and not use as a workbook.
