The importance of quality rest is undeniable, and this journal is a tool to assist you in that rest. Refresh was created to spark thoughtful consideration through weekly prompts and intentional scripture. This journal encourages and equips those who are practicing the spiritual discipline of Sabbath rest. Whether you have followed Jesus for decades or days, there is always much to be gleaned from communion with the Spirit.

Inside each journal you will find an introduction that outlines the basics of Sabbath rest. Following the introduction, there are 52 sets of pages that will have thoughtful prompts, a Psalm and a blank journal page. Why Psalms as the scripture focus? Throughout 2020, I did my best to read a Psalm each night. I connected deeply to the honest mix of lament and praises. Similar to David and the other Psalmists, I wrestled with grief and fear, but also found joy in God's presence and hope in his promises. Like the Psalms, I wanted the journal to be a space where hard questions could be asked, prayers would be answered, and love would lead in abundance.

There is a pursuit and a purpose surrounding you, and this journal is just a small part of it. Slowing down, and creating intentional space to listen to the Holy Spirit is vital to battling the mental and physical strains that we experience on this side of Heaven.
