My goal with this book is to share information that readers might find of value in their own relationships. Looking back on my own life experience, I wish someone had shared some of this with me so I could have avoided learning many things the hard way.

When I decided to write this book on relationship, my wife Barbara was surprised and cautioned me by saying that she would not dare write such a book because it was such a varied topic with so many nuances. That scared me because she is certainly more qualified to write about relationship than I am. I hesitated for a while.Most of my writing had been on housing, business, woodworking, even publishing, but nothing on relationship. It's an expansive topic and I wasn't sure if my information would be of real value. I considered that all my books are based on first hand experience and realized that even though I'm not an expert, I have a life time of experience in relationship. Based on that I felt able to contribute something helpful to some readers and I feel good about this book.

Author Biography

A. William (Bill) Benitez was born in Tampa, Florida and developed an extensive set of skills by studying and doing. He is the author of mostly how-to books but also wrote a well-reviewed book on relationships. His writing is concise, detailed, how-to information based on his skills and personal experience. He also operates Positive Imaging, LLC, an independent publishing house that has published more than four dozen books. Bill learned his construction, handyman, and woodworking skills working summers and weekends with his dad, a general contractor. He was building homes by age nineteen. Later he worked in government running housing programs. He successfully operated one-person construction, handyman, woodworking, and publishing businesses even after moving to Austin, Texas in 1986. Before the advent of print on demand or ebooks, he established and operated Rehab Notes Library and wrote and published eight guidebooks and a monthly newsletter (Rehab Notes) on housing. He also did consulting and public speaking in cities across the country. Taking advantage of all those years of experience he wrote and published popular books on the handyman and woodworking business. In 2007 he used his publishing experience to start Positive Imaging, LLC, a print on demand and ebook publishing company to publish his books and the books of other writers. The first book published by Positive Imaging, LLC was Lottie's Adventure a children's book written by his wife, Barbara Frances. He developed his extensive computer skills in response to poor technical support for his computers. He learned computer technology and got his A+ and MCSE Certification (Microsoft Certified Systems Engineer). He worked as the Manager of Information Technology for the Hyatt Regency in Austin, Texas until retiring after twenty years in January 2016. He now runs Positive Imaging, LLC full-time and puts his extensive computer experience to good use in his publishing business. Bill and his wife Barbara now lives in Austin, Texas.

I found this book to be such an informative and important read offering tips for all types. I couldn't agree with the author more about never ever taking your partner for granted and that love means ALWAYS saying you're sorry-- actually as quickly, whole-heartedly and as often as needed. I'd recommend Bill's book to add zest to an already good relationship or to help you create the one you long for. Denise FleckOftentimes clear, true insight comes from someone not "trained" or "educated" in a particular field of thought. This book represents one of those times. The subject of "relationships" is so complicated few outside the legal/ counseling/mental health arenas even attempt to address it for fear of being ignored, misunderstood or, worse yet, laughed at.The author's conversational style makes his book about the subject quite easy to read / understand and as one absorbs his meaning . . . believable. It rings so true that as I was reading, I kept wanting to cut out paragraphs to put on my computer, refrigerator and bathroom mirror!Read this book. You will be glad you found it. It was a serious contemplation on my part.I have found myself, in further reading, wishing that there was a workbook or outline guide at the end the book to further address all the wonderful points that you make, sort of a relationship checklist! (maybe there is one....I haven't checked the end.)It is lovely, Bill. I think many people can and will benefit from the dialogue that you present. It truly makes one have a self-conversation. I am delighted at my own introspection in relation to your written word and experience.It is like eating rich chocolate and having the need to savor and roll it over the tongue; in this case, the mind, for the true essence of what is being communicated. I can't imagine one being in a relationship and not contemplating the effectiveness of one's actions, or non-action, in reading it.I also listened to some of it in a female voice.
