So, I finally did. Great content in an 'okay' book. If you're a fan of Gandhi, this is a must-read, however, and you will probably enjoy it as much as I did. If you're one who is intrigued a bit by Gandhi and just looking to 'get to know him' a little more, you might find yourself trudging through these nearly 600 pages.

Condition	I'm taking artistic liberty and saying, all things, including some tiny flaws, considered, this wonderful little gem is indeed in Very Good condition for a book that is 50+ year old. Bright enough yellow and white front cover still retains a glimmer of shine, does have light wear on corners, edges and extremes of spine, but nothing serious. Title kinda rolls onto the spine, which suffers from just a bit of book scoliosis, no biggie. A good crease, could be courtesy of the publisher, in the upper part of the spine, but same is otherwise clean and ding-free. Inside, a few very small pages right in the middle of the first few clean, crisp and all lightly faded pages but, by my observation, no marks and no dog ears on 544 very compact pages.

As one who has been keenly attentive to the life and teaching of Gandhi since a young age, I decided it was finally time to read what I've been told many times is the quintessential biography of Gandhi. So, I finally did. My assessment? Great content in an 'okay' book. Fischer did a fantastic job of telling the story of this fascinating person who has had such an impact on the world, but the narrative of the story Fischer writes is a bit dry. This may be in large part because the book was written decades ago, but even for that time period it's a tad bland. If you're a fan of Gandhi, this is a must-read, however, and you will probably enjoy it as much as I did. If you're one who is intrigued a bit by Gandhi and just looking to 'get to know him' a little more, you might find yourself trudging through these nearly 600 pages.
