Description for Sales People
Warrior Princesses Strike Back is a hybrid activist memoir, specifically targeted for women of color who are survivors of assault, abuse, and trauma. Both authors have been lifelong advocates of Indigenous spirituality and storytelling as a means to understanding and healing the impact of trauma on marginalized communities. The book's primary audience also includes those interested in healing and social justice, academics in WGS or postcolonial studies, and readers interested in understanding contemporary Native American perspectives and experiences to become better allies of Indigenous movements. There is very little representation of Indigenous women's voices in spaces dedicated to self-help, healing, and spirituality. Despite the long tradition of appropriating "Native American" aesthetics or ideas, writers from these communities have rarely been active participants in shaping that conversation.
